Lincoln is a small vibrant and modern city with two millenniums of history with so much to interest most of its visitors. If staying in the City between April and September take the Hop on – Hop off Sightseeing Bus every 60 minutes with 10 stops to include: The Minster Yard and12 th century Cathedral, Lincoln Castle, The Stonebow, The Waterfront with boat trips, The Lawn, The Newport Arch, The Bailgate Shopping Centre, The Lincoln Life, Toy and many more interesting museums.

 

Lincolnshire is also a haven for antique enthusiasts as it is renowned for its massive international Swinderby Collectors Fair (off A46) held regularly throughout the year, with over 3000 dealers and 1 million exhibits. Also 300 Dealers, the largest selection in one location can be found at Hemswell, an ex RAF airfield north of Lincoln on A631, with three buildings providing over 20,000 sq ft of displays, both venues are within 10 miles drive from the city.

 

As Lincoln is a large city of learning with its famous University, there are many restaurants, public houses and clubs which cater for all cultures, interests, ages and tastes.

 

People with aviation interests are spoilt for choice with many RAF operational airfields and aircraft museums throughout Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties, such as The Duxford Heritage Museum in Cambridgeshire.

 

This is the place for sport and leisure, whether your looking for recreational or competitive sport or simply to watch others, its all close at hand. Watch horse racing at Market Rasen, or ride yourself at numerous stables across the county, or how about a round of golf with over 42 golf courses to choose from.

Hire a bike - or bring your own – there’s all kinds of terrain to choose from for both the enthusiast and the casual biker. And for the keen angler, catch your supper in the nearby river Witham or just chill out – they’ll bite another day. Lincolnshire ’s rich heritage has been preserved at many museums and galleries across the county. A new state-of-the-art museum was opened in Lincoln during 2005 whilst Sleaford is the home to the Hub, the largest space for contemporary arts and crafts outside London.
