Welcome to Ashleigh

Ashleigh is a fully modernised Victorian quality comfortable terraced house, which still retains much of its charm, character and some original features. The house, with two bedrooms which can sleep up to three is located in a quiet Cul-de-Sac with street parking, and is only fifteen minutes walk or a short bus ride from Lincoln City centre.

Lounge - Lincolnshire Self-CateringBeneath the skyline of one of Europe’s most beautiful Cathedrals lies a city spanning two millenniums of history and heritage, which is ranked among the UK’s Top 10 cities, so it’s no surprise that Lincoln rates as having one of the friendliest atmospheres of any historic city.

It’s an ideal centre for walks around the city, such as the 12th Century Cathedral, or the 900 year old Norman Castle, which houses one of the four original Magna Carta signed by King John from 1215.

Pay a visit to the medieval Guildhall or wander through the picturesque Bailgate area with speciality shopping and dining. Wander down the famous Steep Hill and stop for a moment at the 900 year old Jews House. Maybe catch a show at the Theatre Royal or look at the many Roman remains and artefacts in the brand new (2005) City Museum, from here stroll a short distance to the Brayford Waterfront and enjoy the bars, restaurants, water based fun and many entertainments.

Dining Room - Lincolnshire Self-CateringAlso pay a visit to Europe’s biggest Christmas Market usually held for four days in early December. This market was first envisaged in 1982, and was based on an idea from Lincoln’s twin town Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Germany which now boasts 300 stall holders and 200,000 visitors annually.

The city also boasts many lush green spaces offering peaceful retreats such as Lincoln’s restored Arboretum, regarded as one of the UK’s finest Victorian parks (only 5 minutes walk from Ashleigh) or venture further into the countryside and experience a feeling of space created by a patchwork quilt of open farmland, broken by its towers, ancient windmills and distant churches.
